Toilet humour, or scatological humour, is a type of off-colour humour dealing with defecation Defecation is the final act of digestion by which organisms eliminate solid, semisolid or liquid waste material from the digestive tract via the anus. Public reference to bodily functions is taboo A taboo is a strong social prohibition relating to any area of human activity or social custom that is sacred and forbidden based on moral judgement and sometimes even religious beliefs. Breaking the taboo is usually considered objectionable or abhorrent by society. The term comes from the Tongan language, and appears in many Polynesian cultures in many cultures. This genre also sees substantial crossover with sexual humour, such as penis jokes.

Is it because someone falling over was voted the greatest comic moment of all time in the UK (Delboy in Only F & H)? Is it because they think F word is a witty one liner? (Watch their sketch shows - when in doubt just throw in an F word). Is it because the most sophisticated ironic comedies in the world eg the Simpsons and Frasier go over their heads and get tiny viewing figures on minority channels? Is it because their own high brow comedies eg Yes, Minister are always shown on minority channels because the networks know they'll fail on Prime Time? Frasier ran for years on prime time and the Simpsons is and has been voted the best cartoon ever in the UK so you really need to get your facts right stupid ! I think you're taking the P*** if you think that Yank comedy is sophisticated! lol
