Education in its broadest sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. In its technical sense education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another. Teachers in educational institutions direct the education of students and might draw on many subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, science and history. This process is sometimes called schooling when referring to the education of teaching only a certain subject, usually as professors at institutions of higher learning. There is also education in fields for those who want specific vocational skills, such as those required to be a pilot. In addition there is an array of education possible at the informal level, such as, in museums and libraries, with the Internet and in life experience. The right to education has been described as a basic human right: since 1952, Article 2 of the first Protocol to the European Convention on Human Rights obliges all signatory parties to guarantee the right to education. At world level, the United Nations' International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of 1966 guarantees this right under its Article 13. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License Should sex education be a manditory class in high schools throughout the United Sates? Q. Do you think sex education should be a manditory class in High schools across America? Why or Why not? Could this possibly prevent accidental pregnancy and help the economy? Asked by M - Mon Nov 17 08:42:05 2008 - - 12 Answers - 9 Comments A. As a teenager in high school myself, i do indeed believe that sexual education should be a mandatory course in health or physical education classes. As someone who does not believe in sex before marriage, i know that others do, and many of my friends are not virgins, and i know some girls in my school are either pregnant, or have had an abortion. If they knew better and were educated more clearly, it could help prevent this. We were not offered sex-ed up until this year and I do know some girls who have stopped being sexual active with their boyfriends because now they know the cold hard facts. So all in all, i do think that sexual education should be in all school across america. I have to write a little essay on the differences of education in North America and South America during the 17th and 18th centuries. Would anyone have any information on the education system in South America? Asked by Anna - Mon Dec 7 01:46:44 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. ~Would you be referring to Dutch colonies in South America? Or French? Or Spanish? Or Portuguese? The Danish Colonies of the West Indies? And are you comparing them to the French colonies of North America, or the Dutch colonies or the English ones, or perhaps the Spanish, Swedish, Finn, Russian or Scottish? If the English, do you refer to those in New England or in the Mid Atlantic or in the South? The question is so overbroad as to be meaningless and idiotic. If you teacher didn't specify any better than you did, tell him/her for me that she/he is a moron. Or are you simply supposed to assume that such generalities can actually be discussed cogently and with some educational purpose? If so, the teacher is not only a moron, but… [cont.] Answered by Oscar Himpflewitz - Mon Dec 7 02:44:49 2009 What education must you have to work in the field of bionics?
Q. I am currently finishing high school, and I am interested in working in the field of bionics. Where could I find work, and what education and what degrees should I have? Thanks for the info. I was looking more towards industry-related bionics uses (I think they're called biomimetics). i.e. creating a concept for a cell phone that is hydrophobic, based on plants or animals who have this ability.
